IBPS Common Written Examination

For recruitment in clerical Cadre in 20 Public Sector Banks

 

IBPS , an autonomous body , has been authorised by IBA and has received a mandate from the 20 Public Sector Banks listed below to conduct the Common Written Examination. The CWE for Clerical Cadre posts will be conducted a year by IBPS.

Allahabad Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Andhra Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, Bank Of India, Punjab & Sind Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Syndicate Bank, Canera Bank, UCO Bank, Central Bank of India, Union Bank of India, Corporation Bank, United Bank of India, Dena Bank, Vijaya Bank, Indian Bank and IDBI Bank.

 

Age 

Minimum: 20 years                   Maximum : 28 years

The maximum age limit specified is applicable to General Category candidates.

Examination Qualification: 

  • Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

  • Computer Literacy: Operating and working knowledge in computer science is mandatory i.e. Candidate should have certificate /Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/should have studied Computer/Information technology as one of the subject in the High School/College/Institute.

  • Proficiency in the Official language of the state /UT (Candidates should know how to read/write and speak the official language of the state /UT) for which vacancies a candidate wishes to apply is preferable.

  • Ex-Serviceman who do not possess the above civil examination qualifications should be matriculate Ex-Servicemen who have obtained the Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force after having completed not less than 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the Union.

 

Note :

  • The percentage of marks shall be arrived at by dividing the aggregate /total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subject irrespective of optional/additional subject stidied with the aggregate maximum marks of the examination passed for all the years of the examination.

  • The date of passing the examination which reckons will be the date appearing on the Mark sheet or provisional certificate.

The above tests except the Test of English Language will be bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi. Other detailed information regarding the examination will be given in an Information Handout, which will be made available for the candidates to download along with the call letters for examination from the IBPS website.

 

Penalty for Wrong Answers:

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one forth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If the total of the penalty for a test is in fraction, the marks obtained will be rounded off to the nearest integer, i.e. if fraction exceeds by 0.50 more, it will be rounded off to next higher integer. If for any question a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as wrong even if one of the given answer happens to be right and there will be the same penalty of 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question deducted as penalty. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is given by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that questions.

 IBPS Clerk CWE Mains Exam Pattern Basically Common written exam  (CWE) for Clerical cadre have 200 Objective type questions this IBPS Clerks CWE (IBPS Clerk Syllabus) Contains five sections Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability Test, General Awareness Test & Computer Knowledge.

Both Sections have same marks with a time duration of 135 Minutes, and Negative marking is also applicable with an effect of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
